Because river levels were too fast for beginner paddlers, we changed our Discover the Red River Paddling Excursion to an Urban Hike. Participants said they enjoyed the informational walk. Project partner: Moorhead Parks and Recreation.
We had a booth at the Red River Market to share information about our upcoming events and activities, and a fish identification activity for attendees to test their knowledge of fish found in the Red River!
The Moorhead Library invited us to their Summer Learning Experience where about 40 youth participated in various activities including our River Crime Lab to learn about stormwater pollution by investigating a trash crime scene, Stream Sense to practice using their senses to explore the Red River, and Incredible Journey to simulate the movement of water in the water cycle.
The RiverArts Fishing Clinic had many smiles from youth as they learned how to tie knots, cast, handle fish, and how to be safe and good anglers. Project partner: FM Walleyes.
